The art on these pages are examples of collections of work completed over the past few years. Presently Paul is working at the OBS (Ofinina Bartolomueu Dos Santos) printmaking Studio in Tavira Portugal. Also in 2024 Paul was invited to work at Atelier Circulaire in Montreal on both his own projects preparing for an exhibit in the summer in Portugal and in collaboration with Katie Jung as a printmaking technician on her project supported by a residency at the studio. Previously (2019-2023) Paul worked at the Printermedia Residency in Vancouver with the support of Canada Arts Council Grants. The residency allowed Paul to maintain a painting studio at Howe Street Studio’s and print at Malaspina print workshop on Granville Island. This residency culminated in two exhibitions in 2023 titled “Loss” and “2022”.  Typically living in Victoria, Canada, Paul both continue’s his practice as an artist and teaches.  Paul has also worked in Berlin in 2015 as a printmaker at the bbk Kulturewerk Druckwekstatt while maintaining a separate painting studio. In addition to working in Berlin he spent a similar period in both 2010 and 2017 working in New York both as a printmaker, at a residency at the Lower East Side Printshop, while painting in a studio in East Williamsburgh, Brooklyn.  Paul was trained at UBC where he received a B.Ed.  and went on to complete an MFA at the Slade School of Fine Arts in London.  Paul has exhibited in Victoria in both group shows and one-man exhibits and was represented for several years by Fran Willis.  In London he showed his work at the Mall Gallery and the Royal Galleries Summer Show. Additionally, he has been represented by the Phillips Gallery in Salt Lake City.

The work here represents several directions for exhibits viewers will find interesting.  The intent is to show themes being developed in paintings under the heading “Gallery.”  Since Paul works concurrently as a printmaker there are explorations using intaglio and paintings.  In addition a sample of work as a printmaker is presented and some current views of work on-going in the studio.
